Meet the cast of The Summer One Acts!

We are thrilled to introduce the incredible cast of our Summer One Acts! This special production brings together two outstanding student-directed performances, showcasing the creativity, dedication, and passion of performers of all ages. Throughout the summer, our casts have poured countless hours into rehearsals, challenged themselves with new roles, and worked together to bring these stories to life with heart, humor, and imagination.

Addy Seefeldt

Addelyn "Addy" Seefeldt plays the role of Petunia Pearl in The Spaghetti Western. Among the many characters she has portrayed on stage, Petunia and Nikki stand out as her favorites. While bringing Petunia to life has been a wonderful experience, one of the biggest challenges has been making her giggles and sobs feel natural, since she's never played a character quite like this before.

What Addy loves most about acting is the opportunity to step into the lives of completely different people with their own personalities, opinions, backstories, and voices. She enjoys the challenge of portraying characters who are very different from herself and discovering what makes each one unique. Through this production, she's learned that even difficult acting skills—like believable sobbing and giggling—become easier with practice and perseverance.

One of Addy's favorite theatre memories is always tech week. Spending so much time together as the show comes to life makes the excitement build with every rehearsal, and she loves watching everything finally come together before opening night. She is especially proud of memorizing all of her lines, something she knows can sometimes be a challenge, and she's thrilled to see all of her hard work pay off on stage.

Addelyn is inspired most by her family because they're supportive and sweet, and they inspire her to work hard and never give up. She would also like to say, "Thank you to Lacy and Bella for being great directors."

Claire Ferguson

Claire Ferguson plays the role of Grannie Smith in The Spaghetti Western. Grannie has quickly become one of Claire's favorite characters she has ever portrayed, and taking on such a memorable role has been an exciting experience from beginning to end. While she jokes that the most challenging part of playing Grannie has been "all of it," she also says it has been incredibly fun every step of the way.

What Claire loves most about acting is the opportunity to truly become someone else. Rather than simply reading lines from a script, she enjoys creating a fully developed character with their own personality, mannerisms, and presence on stage. Through this production, she has learned how to embrace the bold, exaggerated style of melodrama, developing fluid movements, expressive facial expressions, and a larger-than-life stage presence while still portraying a character with less energy.

When it comes to theatre memories, Claire simply can't choose just one—every memory she has made through theatre is a favorite. She is especially proud of earning the role of Grannie Smith, her first lead role after previously performing characters with only a handful of lines. Receiving the part was such a meaningful moment that she almost cried, and it reminds her just how much she has grown as a performer.

Kaydence Shondelmyer

Kaydence Shondelmyer plays the role of Phil McCup in The Spaghetti Western. Of all the characters she has performed, Phil has become her favorite. One of the biggest challenges of the role has been serving drinks while keeping up with everything happening on stage, but it's also been part of what has made the experience so much fun.

What Kaydence loves most about acting is watching the entire production come together. Seeing the cast, costumes, and story transform from rehearsals into a finished performance is one of her favorite parts of being involved in theatre. One of her favorite memories from this production was the first dress rehearsal. Since auditions, she had imagined what each character would be like, and it was exciting to finally see everyone's performances and costumes bring those visions to life.

Kaydence is especially proud of memorizing her lines for this show. Learning her opening paragraph was a huge accomplishment, and finally getting it down gave her a wonderful sense of confidence and achievement.

Kaydence is inspired most by her dad because he has a slight country accent. She likes to tease him about it, but she also thinks it really helped her capture the country feel of her character.

Annabelle Howell

Annabelle Howell plays the role of Sheriff Kirk Ketchum in The Spaghetti Western. Among her favorite theatre roles are Toto and the fearless Sheriff Kirk Ketchum, a character who has given her the fun challenge of portraying a rugged, manly sheriff—even though she's a 12-year-old girl! Bringing such a bold character to life has made this role both hilarious and rewarding.

What Annabelle loves most about being on stage is making both the audience and her fellow cast members laugh. Through this production, she has learned how much body language and silent movements can add to a performance, helping her create a character that feels authentic even without speaking. She is especially proud of developing a convincing country western accent for the role, a skill that has made Sheriff Kirk Ketchum even more memorable.

One of Annabelle's favorite theatre memories is a simple one: IHOP! Sometimes the best memories happen offstage, and sharing those moments with castmates is part of what makes theatre so special.

Annabelle is inspired most by Charlotte Avey because they taught themselves how to act by making mini movies at home together, and Charlotte has also been a great spiritual mentor. She would also like to say, "I would like to thank Bella and Lacey for volunteering their time and making something special for us!!!"

Olivia Harper

Olivia Harper plays the role of Hal Holdem in The Spaghetti Western. Hal has quickly become her favorite character she has performed, and she loves every goofy moment that comes with bringing him to life. While the biggest challenge has been keeping track of all of Hal's many props, his over-the-top personality makes him one of the most fun characters to portray.

What Olivia loves most about acting is fully stepping into her character and seeing herself become Hal Holdem while she's on stage. She enjoys the opportunity to transform into someone completely different and embrace all of the energy and humor that comes with the role.

One of Olivia's favorite theatre memories isn't a single performance or rehearsal—it's the friendships she's made along the way. Those connections have made every rehearsal and show even more meaningful, and they're a big part of what she loves about theatre.

Olivia is inspired most by Elsie Montgomery because she has attended her plays almost every year. Olivia says Elsie is an extraordinary actress who continually amazes and inspires her. She would also like to say, "Hello Hope and gabby, you guys are my absolute best friends and I’m so happy you got to come. I love you guys!"

Adalyn Knotts

Adalyn Knotts plays the role of Duke Dreadful in The Spaghetti Western. While she has enjoyed the majority of the characters she's performed over the years, Duke Dreadful has quickly become one of her all-time favorites. One of the biggest challenges of the role has been mastering the makeup—especially trying to create a convincing "dude" look—but it's all been worth it to bring this wonderfully wicked villain to life.

What Adalyn loves most about acting is the chance to become someone completely new every time she steps on stage. Through this production, she also discovered something unexpected about herself: just how much fun it is to play the bad guy. As she puts it, she "didn't know how much I liked being EVIL… MaHaHa!"

One of Adalyn's favorite theatre memories was getting to walk around and interact with the audience during a previous production, making the experience even more exciting and immersive. Duke Dreadful has given her another opportunity to embrace a larger-than-life character, and she has loved every mischievous moment of it.

Adalyn is inspired most by her parents because they are always positive and they're just amazing. She would also like to say, "I’m best villain EVER love ya!-Adalyn"

Charlotte Avey

Charlotte Avey plays the role of Saucy Sally in The Spaghetti Western. With two productions now under her belt, Charlotte says she genuinely can't choose a favorite role—she has loved them both! Playing Saucy Sally has brought plenty of new challenges, including learning a country accent, something Charlotte admits doesn't come naturally to her.

What Charlotte loves most about acting is everything that comes with being on stage: the feeling right before a performance begins, the excitement of putting together a production that entertains an audience, and the opportunity to become part of an amazing cast. This show has also taught her the importance of knowing more than just her own lines. When something unexpected happens on stage, knowing the other characters' lines and cues can help keep the scene moving and the story on track.

Some of Charlotte's favorite theatre memories include taking her very first curtain call in Too Many Ghosts, where hearing the audience cheer for her and her cast after performing her first lead role was unforgettable. She's also loved the sillier moments from this production—especially choreographing the scene where the cast frantically throws the bomb around!

Charlotte is particularly proud of just how "saucy" she has made Saucy Sally. She worked hard to embrace the character's flirtatious personality, especially during Sally's first encounter with Sheriff Kirk Ketchum. Adding little expressions, reactions, and character choices throughout the show has helped her grow into the role—and given her plenty of reasons to laugh along the way.

Charlotte is inspired most by every person that I see on a stage pouring their heart out into a production. Theatre people are truly the greatest people on earth and someone who is brave enough to be on a stage in front of people and do ridiculous stuff are honestly heros.

She would also like to say, *"I want to thank Charlotte Chalakee for River's Edge itself. It truly is an amazing theatre program and I am so proud of all it has accomplished.

I want to thank Bella and Lacey for directing this play. They were SUCH amazing directors and I can't wait to see where they go from here!

I want to thank the whole cast of Spaghetti Western for committing to this play with me. We had some up and downs, that's for sure, but we all ended up putting on an amazing show and I'm so proud of every single on of you!

Isabel Gudmundsson

Isabel Gudmundsson plays the role of Bonnie Voyage in The Spaghetti Western. Although she has enjoyed every opportunity to perform, one of her favorite roles so far has been Alice in Too Many Ghosts. Taking on the role of Bonnie Voyage has brought a new challenge, as staying in character at all times has required extra focus and dedication.

What Isabel loves most about acting is getting to share a story with an audience and bring a production to life. Through this show, she has learned just how important it is to remain fully in character from beginning to end, helping create an engaging and believable performance for everyone watching.

One of Isabel's favorite theatre memories can be summed up in one enthusiastic word: "BRUCEEEEEE!" It's those fun, unforgettable moments with her castmates that make theatre such a special experience. She is also incredibly proud of accomplishing her sixth production with River's Edge Community Theatre, a milestone that reflects her continued growth and commitment as a performer.

Isabel is inspired most by Bella and Lacy because they are such amazing directors and talented actors who continue to inspire her.

Mackenzie Gudmundsson

Mackenzie Gudmundsson plays the role of Dusty Britches in The Spaghetti Western. Among the many characters she has brought to life on stage, Dusty Britches and Regina from It's a Madhouse are two of her favorites. Playing Dusty has come with plenty of laughs and unique challenges, from being lifted into the air by Joe and Joey to finding just the right walk and mastering Dusty's delightfully clueless personality.

What Mackenzie loves most about acting is meeting new people and having the chance to become someone completely different from herself. Every new role gives her the opportunity to explore a different personality, and she enjoys embracing the creativity that comes with each character. Through this production, she's also learned an important lesson: never trust Duke Dreadful—he just might have something sneaky up his sleeve that's bad for your sauce!

Some of Mackenzie's favorite theatre memories happen backstage, where the cast shares laughs, takes funny photos, and creates memories that are just as special as the performances themselves. She is especially proud of showing that she can take on all kinds of characters, proving she's capable of playing many different personalities, no matter how wild or silly they may be.

Mackenzie is inspired most by Bella, Lacey, and Avery because, as directors and Avery as a helper, they have shown her through every production that no role is too difficult, no matter how many lines it has or how different the character may be.

She would also like to say, "Bella and Lacey, it has been a blast having you as my directors and being apart of this show and I hope you continue to direct because you have done amazing at it and I hope you be in another play that you direct because this play has been a blast with your help and guidance and a shout out to Avery for helping them and helping us with cues backstage."

Sadie Johnson

Sadie Johnson plays the role of Mosey Onoverthere in The Spaghetti Western. While some of her favorite past roles include Katie Wong in It's a Madhouse and Violet in Alice in Wonderland Jr., she's had a wonderful time bringing the delightfully slow-moving Mosey Onoverthere to life. As someone who naturally walks quickly, one of the biggest challenges has been remembering to slow everything down to match her snail-like character. Along the way, she's had a lot of fun experimenting with different character choices and adding her own creative touches to the role.

What Sadie loves most about acting is collaborating with others and creating stories that go beyond the script. She especially enjoys developing little background moments that help make the world on stage feel more alive. Through this production, she has gained an even greater appreciation for the importance of teamwork. With so much happening in the background of the show, every cast member plays a role in building the energy, reacting to one another, and helping the story come to life.

One of Sadie's favorite theatre memories is praying with her friends backstage before performances, a tradition that has made every show even more meaningful. She is especially proud of taking a humorous supporting character and making Mosey both dramatic and funny, creating a performance that adds even more personality to the production.

Sadie is inspired most by Jesus because her faith means so much to her, and she sees Him as the perfect role model. She also looks up to Bailey, Jillian, and Sophia, who have shown her what it means to be strong leaders and to love others well.

She would also like to say, "I would like to shout out my Mom, Dad, Grandparents and Sister for always being there for me and supporting me in my theatre career. I wanna thank my friend Lola for always coming to my shows as well as the Kirk family. Thank you Lacy, Bella, and Charlotte for this awesome show!"

Elsie Montgomery

Elsie Montgomery plays the role of Miss Behavin in The Spaghetti Western. Among her favorite roles over the years are Alice Wendelken in The Best Christmas Pageant Ever and Judith in It's a Madhouse, and she has enjoyed adding the lively Miss Behavin to that list.

What Elsie loves most about acting is the opportunity to step on stage and share the results of all the hard work put in during rehearsals. She especially enjoys developing characterization and discovering what makes each role unique, bringing every character to life in a memorable way. Throughout this production, she has also been proud of the dedication she has given to rehearsing, strengthening her improvisation skills, and continuing to learn more about her character.

One of Elsie's favorite theatre traditions is heading to IHOP with the cast after performances. Those moments spent laughing, celebrating, and making memories together are just as meaningful as the time spent on stage and are some of the experiences she treasures most.

Elsie is inspired most by the many incredible performers she has watched in musicals this summer. Their outstanding performances have inspired her to continue growing as an actress and to keep striving to bring her own characters to life.

She would also like to say, "Shout out to Annabelle, Isabel and Mackenzie for all of the time we spent on FaceTime running lines this summer!"

Finley Lucido

Finley Lucido plays the role of Daisy Chain in The Spaghetti Western. One of Finley's favorite roles she has performed so far is Snow White in A Fairy Tale Christmas, and she has enjoyed bringing the cheerful Daisy Chain to life in this production. One of the biggest challenges of playing her character has been remembering to stay engaged and react to everything happening on stage, helping make every scene feel lively and believable.

What Finley loves most about acting is the exciting moment when all of the rehearsals finally come together into a complete performance. Watching the cast, costumes, lights, and story all fall into place makes opening night especially rewarding. Through this production, she has also learned the importance of memorizing not only her own lines but the line before hers, making it easier to stay confident and ready for every cue.

One of Finley's favorite theatre memories is spending time with her castmates in the green room. Those moments backstage, filled with laughter and excitement, have become some of her favorite parts of being involved in theatre.

Brooklyn Calhoun

Brooklyn Calhoun plays the role of Lily Livered in The Spaghetti Western. One of Brooklyn's favorite roles so far was her very first character, Grace, Helper Clover in The Case of the Missing Director. Taking on the role of Lily Livered has given her the opportunity to continue growing as a performer, especially as she experimented with different ways to make her character funnier and more memorable. While memorizing her lines and cues was one of the biggest challenges, she embraced the process and enjoyed discovering what made Lily unique.

What Brooklyn loves most about acting is the chance to become someone completely different from herself and bring that character to life on stage. Through this production, she has learned new techniques for memorizing lines, giving her more confidence and helping her grow with every rehearsal.

One of Brooklyn's favorite theatre memories is participating in her very first production alongside her friends. She is especially proud of memorizing all of her lines without needing her script and of watching her character develop into a performance she is truly proud of.

Outside of theatre, Brooklyn enjoys skiing, Disney cruising, swimming, rock climbing, and wake surfing, making every season an opportunity for a new adventure.

Brooklyn is inspired most by her dad because he is really brave and does a lot of hard things. She admires his perseverance.

Ainsley Skidgel

Ainsley Skidgel plays the role of Rose Thorn in The Spaghetti Western. Some of Ainsley's favorite roles she has performed include Annie in Annie Jr., Spot Conlon in Newsies Jr., and Alice Cratchit in A Christmas Carol. Playing the delightfully prickly Rose Thorn has given her the fun challenge of acting extra sassy and thorny—although, as she jokes, her parents might say that part comes naturally!

What Ainsley loves most about acting is the opportunity to become a different character with every production. Each new role allows her to explore a new personality and tell a different story. Through this show, she has also learned an important lesson: every role, no matter how big or small, plays an important part in bringing a production to life.

One of Ainsley's favorite theatre memories came during a performance when another actor accidentally said an inappropriate word while wearing a hot mic—an unforgettable backstage story that still makes her laugh! She is especially proud of how quickly she learned all of her lines and blocking, allowing her to focus on developing her character and enjoying the rehearsal process.

Ainsley is inspired most by Taylor Swift because of how she was able to perform for so many hours during each Eras Tour show and because she is so generous and kind.

She would also like to say, "Thanks to my mom for driving me to rehearsals and auditions, and to my dad, Da, and sister for always encouraging and cheering me on."

Nathan Knotts

Nathan Knotts plays the role of Joe in The Spaghetti Western. Among the characters he has performed, Joe and Mr. Bones are two of his favorites. One of the most enjoyable parts of playing Joe has been racing around the stage in search of gold, bringing plenty of energy and excitement to every performance.

What Nathan loves most about acting is getting a reaction from the audience. Whether it's making people laugh or drawing them into the story, he enjoys seeing the hard work of the cast come to life in front of a crowd. Through this production, he has also learned one humorous lesson about himself: his voice cracks...a lot!

One of Nathan's favorite theatre memories is performing with all of his friends back in fifth grade, a time that helped spark his love for being on stage. He is especially proud of how quickly the cast can transform their appearance backstage between scenes, making the magic of theatre happen in just a matter of moments.

Nathan is inspired most by Neil deGrasse Tyson because he loves everything he stands for and hopes to one day be as knowledgeable as he is.

Sawyer Monks

Sawyer Monks plays the role of Four-Eyed Joey in The Spaghetti Western. Four-Eyed Joey has quickly become Sawyer's favorite character to perform, and he loves the role's hilarious personality and comedic energy. Bringing such a fun character to life has made this production an especially enjoyable experience.

What Sawyer loves most about acting is that it has always been something he has found entertaining, and he's excited to have the opportunity to pursue it on stage. Through this show, he has learned an important lesson about theatre: everyone makes mistakes, and fellow actors are there to support one another because every rehearsal is part of the learning process.

Grace Chalakee

Grace Chalakee plays the role of Annie Chokely in The Spaghetti Western. One of Grace's favorite roles she has performed so far was Sophie in Too Many Ghosts, but stepping into the shoes of Annie Chokely has given her the exciting opportunity to try something completely different. One of the funniest challenges has been trying not to laugh while acting mean before tech week, especially since playing a villain doesn't come naturally to her.

What Grace loves most about acting is making new memories with her castmates and being part of the experiences that make every production special. Through this show, she has discovered that playing a mean character is harder than it looks, especially when you're naturally kind. She is especially proud of creating a character unlike any she has played before and proving to herself that she can convincingly portray someone completely different from who she is.

Katy Morrell

Katy Morrell plays the roles of Wonda Burp in The Spaghetti Western and Gal Pal in The Audit. Among the many characters she has portrayed, Mrs. Mayor in Seussical remains one of her favorites. This summer, Katy has enjoyed the opportunity to take on two very different roles, with one of the biggest challenges being learning how to convincingly play a villain as Wonda Burp.

What Katy loves most about acting is the adrenaline rush that comes right before stepping on stage. There's nothing quite like the excitement of knowing the curtain is about to rise and all of the hard work from rehearsals is about to come to life. Through this production, she has learned the importance of always being ready for anything, since live theatre is full of surprises and unexpected moments.

One of Katy's favorite theatre memories is praying backstage with her friends just before each performance. Those quiet moments together help calm the nerves and remind her of the friendships that make theatre such a meaningful experience. She is especially proud of the work she has put into developing her characters and making each one feel unique.

Kaylin Seefeldt

Kaylin Seefeldt plays the role of Doc Pepper in The Spaghetti Western. Two of Kaylin's favorite roles have been Krystal in It's a Madhouse and Doc Pepper, a character who has challenged her in new and exciting ways. One of the biggest challenges has been learning to perform louder while slowing down her delivery, helping her bring the character to life on stage.

What Kaylin loves most about acting is the confidence it has given her. Performing has helped her become less nervous and more comfortable stepping in front of an audience, allowing her to grow both as an actress and as a person. Through this production, she has also discovered that acting takes a lot of hard work, making every successful performance feel even more rewarding.

One of Kaylin's favorite theatre memories is being accepted into her very first play without having to audition. That experience sparked her love of theatre, and she is especially proud of earning a place in this production and continuing to grow with every show she performs.

Addyson Marshall

Addyson Marshall plays the role of Jill Droolin in The Spaghetti Western. One of Addyson's favorite roles she has performed was Bird Girl in Seussical, and she has had a wonderful time bringing the mischievous Jill Droolin to life. One of the biggest challenges of playing her character has been acting mean all the time, but embracing Jill's villainous personality has made the role both exciting and entertaining.

What Addyson loves most about acting is that it allows her to have fun while expressing herself. Every production gives her the opportunity to step into someone else's shoes while continuing to grow as a performer. Elin Smith

Elin Smith plays the role of Slim Pikens in The Spaghetti Western. One of Elin's favorite roles she has performed was Harry Bright in Mamma Mia!, and she has had a wonderful time adding the bold and hilarious Slim Pikens to her list of memorable characters. Her favorite part of playing Slim has been embracing the character's over-the-top attitude, which brings plenty of comedy to every scene.

What Elin loves most about acting is the way performing makes her feel. She enjoys being in the spotlight and experiencing the excitement that comes with bringing a character to life in front of an audience. Through this production, she has learned not to be afraid of making her character big, bold, and full of personality—an important lesson that has helped her grow as a performer.

Amelia Kissell

Amelia Kissell plays the role of Big Mouth George in The Spaghetti Western. Some of her favorite roles have been Sally in Too Many Ghosts and now Big Mouth George, a delightfully over-the-top character who has given her the chance to embrace her silly side. One of the funniest parts of playing George has been creating a character so outrageous that she gets to "kiss her muscles," making every performance bigger, bolder, and full of laughs.

Amelia loves acting because it gives her the opportunity to become someone completely different with every production. Through this show, she discovered that she can play much more than just the sassy characters she's often known for, continuing to grow as a versatile performer. Her favorite theatre moments are the ones that fill the audience with laughter, making every performance a memorable experience for both the cast and the crowd.

Amelia is especially proud of continuing to challenge herself with new kinds of characters and finding fresh ways to make audiences laugh while bringing Big Mouth George to life.

Sadie Skidgel

Sadie Skidgel plays the role of Josie Jailem in The Spaghetti Western. Among her favorite theatre roles are a Caroler in A Christmas Carol and, of course, the lovable Josie Jailem. One of the funniest parts of playing Josie has been wearing her tiny cowboy hat, which adds even more charm and comedy to her character.

What Sadie loves most about acting is simply performing and bringing stories to life on stage. Through this production, she has learned that every play is different, with each one offering new experiences, new challenges, and new opportunities to grow as a performer.

One of Sadie's favorite theatre memories is performing alongside her mom and sister in A Christmas Carol, making the experience even more meaningful for their family. She is especially proud of the hard work she put into learning her lines and blocking, giving her the confidence to fully enjoy her time on stage.

Lucy Knotts

Lucy Knotts plays the role of Sally Servem in The Spaghetti Western. As this is Lucy's very first theatre production, Sally Servem has quickly become her favorite role. One of the biggest challenges has been remembering exactly when to make her exits, but with each rehearsal she has grown more confident and comfortable on stage.

What Lucy loves most about acting is getting to perform alongside her brother and sister, making this experience even more special for their family. Through her first show, she discovered something exciting about herself—she loves theatre and already knows she wants to be part of many more productions in the future.

One of Lucy's favorite memories from this show has been making new friends and becoming part of the cast. She is especially proud of overcoming her stage fright, a huge accomplishment that has allowed her to enjoy every moment of performing.

Lucy is inspired most by her costar Phil McCup because she helps her on stage and keeps her calm.

Bella Craft and Lacey Waters

Bella Craft and Lacey Waters are the co-directors of The Spaghetti Western. Both have been valued members of the River's Edge Community Theatre family for years, captivating audiences in numerous productions as talented performers. This summer marks their directing debut, and they have been an absolute joy to work alongside.

Their creativity, theatrical talent, and experience as actors have brought fresh ideas and imagination to every rehearsal, helping shape this production into something truly special. Even more importantly, their kindness, humor, patience, and genuine love for mentoring young performers have created an encouraging environment where every cast member could grow in confidence and creativity.

Avery Calvert

Avery Calvert is the assistant director for The Spaghetti Western. Avery has been a valued member of the River's Edge Community Theatre family for years and is a talented performer whom we've all loved watching on stage. This summer marks her assistantdirecting debut, and she has been an invaluable part of bringing this production to life.

From supporting Bella and Lacey throughout rehearsals to stepping in for absent cast members, helping with backstage cues, and encouraging students behind the scenes, Avery has truly done it all. No matter the task, she approaches it with a big smile, an even bigger heart, and a wonderful sense of humor that has made rehearsals a joy for everyone involved.

We are incredibly grateful for the countless hours of love, encouragement, and dedication Avery has poured into this cast. Her willingness to serve wherever she is needed has made a lasting impact on both this production and the young performers she has mentored.

Journey Fowler

Journey Fowler provides the voice of The Voice in The Audit. Although her role keeps her behind the scenes, Journey has enjoyed being an important part of bringing the story to life. One of the most challenging parts of the experience has been staying backstage and watching the action unfold instead of being out on stage with the rest of the cast.

One of Journey's favorite theatre memories has been watching Grant perform from backstage, seeing the production come together from a unique perspective. She is especially proud of the friendships she has built throughout the rehearsal process and of growing closer to many of her fellow cast members, making this production an experience she will always remember.

Journey is inspired most by Cooper because she delivers a captivating performance.

Grant Stephens

Grant Stephens plays the role of Michael St. John in The Audit. Among the many characters he has portrayed, Nick in Over the River and Through the Woods remains one of his favorites, but taking on the emotionally complex role of Michael St. John has been a rewarding new challenge. Grant jokes that one of the funniest parts of this production has been Jo Jo giving him some very strange looks during rehearsals.

What Grant loves most about acting is the way it has shaped him over the years, helping him grow in confidence and come out of his shell. Through this production, he has also gained valuable insight into directing by observing Marshall's approach and experiencing firsthand what it's like to work with student directors. Those experiences have given him ideas he hopes to carry into his future work in filmmaking and directing actors.

One of Grant's favorite theatre memories comes from performing in The Game's Afoot, when the cast and crew were still building and painting the set the night before opening. Although the set wasn't finished until the day of the first performance, the experience of working together to create something so beautiful became an unforgettable memory. Grant is especially proud of Marshall for taking the initiative to pursue directing opportunities that many people would never have attempted, and he has enjoyed watching that hard work pay off throughout this production.

Grant is inspired most by Daniel Johnston and Kanye West's approach to music because they stay true to their craft without worrying about what others think. He admires their willingness to follow their artistic vision, believing it's better to create art you genuinely love than spend a lifetime making work based only on what you think others want to see.

Cameron Myrick

Cameron Myrick plays the role of Sarah St. John in The Audit. Some of Cameron's favorite past roles include Alibi, Sister Josephine, and Grandma, and she has enjoyed the unique challenge of bringing Sarah St. John to life. Although Sarah is only on stage for a short time, Cameron has worked hard to communicate her character's thoughts and emotions, making every moment count.

What Cameron loves most about acting is developing a character and exploring their perspective. She enjoys discovering what motivates each role and finding authentic ways to bring those emotions to the stage. Through this production, she has continued to step outside of her comfort zone, growing in confidence while building meaningful friendships with her fellow cast members.

One of Cameron's favorite theatre memories is the unforgettable moment when Kaden got stuck in a kid's swing and then promptly fell out once everyone managed to free him. It's memories like those, filled with laughter and shared experiences, that make theatre so special. Cameron is especially proud of the emotional depth she has been able to bring to Sarah St. John, creating a performance that feels genuine despite her limited time on stage.

Davis White

Davis White plays the role of the Auditor in The Audit. Some of Davis's favorite past roles include Fester in The Addams Family, Caliban in The Tempest, and Damian in Mean Girls. Each character has allowed him to grow as a performer, and he has enjoyed taking on the unique challenge of portraying the mysterious and guiding presence of the Auditor in this production.

What Davis loves most about acting is the opportunity to connect with other people and work together to tell a story that audiences can enjoy. For him, theatre is at its best when a cast collaborates to create something meaningful, with every performer contributing to the experience both on and off the stage.

Davis is inspired most by his sister, Anabel, because she encouraged him to become involved in theatre and is one of the most talented people he knows.

Clara Hoffhines

Clara Hoffhines plays the role of the Associate in The Audit. One of Clara's favorite roles she has performed was Miss Hildegarde in Any Body for Tea at Jenks High School, and she has loved the opportunity to bring the Associate to life in this production. While her character often has to remain composed, one of the funniest challenges has been keeping a straight face during some of the show's hilarious moments—especially during Scenario 2.

What Clara loves most about acting is discovering who her character is and exploring different ways to embody them. She enjoys finding the unique details that make each role feel authentic, and believes that deeper character work makes performing for an audience even more rewarding. Through this production, she has learned how to bring lots of energy to a performance while still portraying a character who is calm and controlled.

One of Clara's favorite theatre memories comes from the first day of line rehearsals when Marshall showed up with a Nerf gun and jokingly threatened to shoot anyone who called for a line. It's moments like those that make rehearsals just as memorable as the performances themselves. Clara is especially proud of successfully developing her character's emotional journey, creating a noticeable transformation from the beginning of the play to the end.

Clara is inspired most by all of her theatre friends because they are all talented actors who each bring unique ideas and interpretations to their characters. She enjoys learning from their creativity and often finds inspiration in the ideas they share.

Jimmy Piehler

Jimmy plays the role of Father in The Audit. One of Jimmy's favorite roles he has performed was Denis Patrik O'Finn, the Irish detective, and he has enjoyed the opportunity to take on another emotionally driven character in this production. One of the biggest challenges has been portraying his character's anger in a way that feels genuine and believable, requiring both control and emotional depth.

What Jimmy loves most about acting is the chance to become someone completely different from himself. Every role offers a new perspective and a new story to tell, making each production a unique experience. Through this show, he has learned the importance of communication, both on and off the stage, and how working together helps bring a production to life.

Akayla Adrien

Akayla Adrien plays the roles of Mary St. John (50's Mom) and Esther (Waitress) in The Audit. Among her favorite roles are Tituba in The Crucible, Ms. MacNeil in Radium Girls, and now Mary St. John, a character who has challenged her in exciting new ways. One of the most rewarding aspects of portraying Mary has been finding the balance between the lighthearted sitcom style and the deeper emotional moments, using thoughtful character choices to seamlessly blend comedy with sincerity.

What Akayla loves most about acting is the incredible community that surrounds the theatre. She treasures the friendships and support she has found through performing, and she is inspired by the thought that her work on stage could encourage someone in the audience to make a positive change in their own life. Through this production, she has expanded her skills by learning a Trans-Atlantic accent while continuing to develop richer characterization, maintain fresh performances, and avoid becoming robotic over the course of rehearsals.

One of Akayla's favorite theatre memories is opening night of The Crucible. Standing center stage in front of hundreds of audience members and feeling their emotional reactions in real time became a defining moment in her theatre journey. It solidified her passion for acting and strengthened her desire to pursue it as a career. She is especially proud of the new friendships she has made through this production and the continued growth she has experienced as an actress.

Violet Vo

Violet Vo plays the roles of Younger Sister Sarah in The Audit. One of Violet's favorite roles she has performed was Audrey in Too Many Ghosts.

What Violet loves most about acting is bringing her characters to life on stage. She especially enjoys hearing the audience laugh and knowing that her performance has connected with them and helped make the story memorable.

Violet is inspired most by Inara because she is very strong and fearless.

Roland Rutger

Roland Rutger plays the role of Young Michael in The Audit. Although Young Michael is his first major theatre role, it has quickly become his favorite. Bringing this version of Michael to life has been an exciting opportunity, and one of Roland's biggest challenges has been learning to project his voice with more energy and confidence on stage.

What Roland loves most about acting is the energy that comes with a live performance. While acting felt a little intimidating at first, he has grown to appreciate the excitement of being on stage and the memories made both while performing and while watching the rest of the cast bring the story to life. Through this production, he has learned new acting techniques, strengthened skills he already had, and enjoyed getting to know the cast and crew throughout the rehearsal process.

Kyndall Del Prete

Kyndall Del Prete plays the roles of Teen Gal and Greek Chorus One in The Audit. Although this has been her first year in theatre, Kyndall has already enjoyed a variety of memorable experiences. Some of her favorite roles include playing an old lady in Any Body For Tea?, one of the senior-directed one acts at Jenks High School, and performing guitar during intermission for the fall melodrama Buckshot and Blossoms. Each opportunity has helped her grow as both a performer and a storyteller.

What Kyndall loves most about acting is the chance to experience something new with every production. She enjoys learning throughout the rehearsal process while also having the opportunity to step into a character's life and experience their story from a completely different perspective. Every role brings new challenges, new lessons, and new opportunities to continue growing as an actress.

Garrett Beason

Garrett Beason plays the roles of Friend, Greek Chorus 2 and Fancy Michael in The Audit.

Katy Morrell

Katy is inspired most by Jesus because He showed how to love and respect people.

Kaden Mojica

Kaden Mojica plays the roles of Teen Sarah and Greek Chorus 3 in The Audit. Rather than having one favorite role, Kaden enjoys every character she's given the opportunity to portray. In this production, one of her biggest challenges has been bringing Teen Sarah to life without speaking, relying instead on body language, facial expressions, and stage presence to communicate the character's emotions.

What Kaden loves most about theatre is spending time with friends she doesn't often get to see outside of rehearsals. Being part of a cast allows her to build lasting friendships while working together to tell meaningful stories on stage.

One of Kaden's favorite theatre memories is a hilarious backstage accident involving a ball that was meant for Cooper but instead hit Cameron, bounced off her face, and then hit Cooper anyway. Thankfully, everyone was okay, and it became one of those unforgettable moments that still makes the cast laugh. Kaden is especially proud of her ability to stay in character even when something funny is happening right in front of her, demonstrating her focus and commitment as a performer.

Josiah Hoffman

Josiah Hoffman plays the role of Teen Michael in The Audit. Among the many characters he has portrayed, Jem in To Kill a Mockingbird and The Man Younger in Long Trip are two of his favorites. Playing Teen Michael has challenged him to balance theatrical expression with awkward teenage moments, creating a character that feels both entertaining and authentic.

What Josiah loves most about acting is putting on a great show for others and creating an experience that audiences can enjoy. Through this production, he has been reminded that "teamwork makes the dream work," and he has enjoyed collaborating with his fellow cast members to bring the story to life.

Josiah is especially proud of taking on the challenge of performing in two productions at the same time, demonstrating both his dedication and his passion for theatre.

Cooper Myrick

Cooper Myrick plays the role of 20's Hannah Levi in The Audit. Among Cooper's favorite theatre roles are Hopalot in Jenks Theatre's production of Buckshot and Blossoms and Josephine March in River's Edge Community Theatre's production of Little Women. Taking on the role of 20's Hannah Levi has given her another opportunity to explore a unique character and contribute to the emotional storytelling of The Audit.

What Cooper loves most about acting is performing in front of an audience and discovering who each character is. She enjoys the process of developing a role, bringing personality and depth to every performance, and sharing the finished production with those watching. Each new show gives her another chance to grow as an actress while doing what she loves most—telling stories on stage.

Inara Vo

Inara Vo plays the roles of Older Sarah and Fancy Sarah in The Audit. Among the many characters she has portrayed, Laurie and the Scarecrow are two of her favorites. In The Audit, she has embraced the challenge of bringing two distinct characters to life, discovering that one of the funniest—and most challenging—parts of the role is learning to be wonderfully dramatic.

What Inara loves most about acting is the opportunity to give back to her community while sharing her comedic and entertaining spirit with audiences. She enjoys making people laugh, telling meaningful stories, and using theatre to bring people together, making every performance a chance to create something special.

Keaton Tiernan

Keaton Tiernan plays the role of the Nurse in The Audit. One of Keaton's favorite roles he has performed was the Durango Kid, and he has enjoyed the opportunity to bring a completely different character to life in this production. One of the biggest challenges of playing the Nurse has been developing the character's unique voice.

What Keaton loves most about acting is the opportunity to inspire others through storytelling. Whether making audiences laugh, think, or feel, he enjoys using theatre to create meaningful experiences and connect with those watching. One of his favorite theatre memories is simply making friends, proving that some of the greatest rewards of theatre happen both on and off the stage.

Marshall Jahn

Marshall Jahn is the director of The Audit. While we have had the privilege of watching Marshall grow into an exceptional actor over the years, this summer marks his directing debut with River's Edge Community Theatre.

Marshall, along with Grant Stephens, approached us with the idea of directing a one-act production, and their enthusiasm became the inspiration behind this year's Summer One Acts. Because of their vision, we were able to create an opportunity for even more students to shine on stage, tell meaningful stories, and experience the joy of live theatre.

From the very beginning, Marshall had a clear artistic vision for The Audit. He thoughtfully guided his cast through every rehearsal, helping each actor discover the heart of their character while encouraging them to give their very best performance. His creativity, leadership, and dedication are evident in every moment of the production.

We are incredibly grateful for the countless hours Marshall devoted to bringing The Audit to life and for sharing the idea that made this entire summer program possible. His passion for storytelling, commitment to his cast, and willingness to step into a leadership role have made a lasting impact on River's Edge Community Theatre, and we are excited to see where his directing journey takes him next.

EJ Onley

EJ Onley served as the Assistant Director for The Audit. Although audiences have enjoyed watching her perform in roles such as The Younger Woman in A Long Trip and as a Can-Can dancer in Buckshot and Blossoms, this summer gave EJ the opportunity to step into a brand-new leadership role behind the scenes.

What EJ loves most about theatre is discovering who each character is and understanding what motivates them. Acting has given her a newfound confidence, while assistant directing has allowed her to see the creative process from a completely different perspective. Through this experience, she learned the importance of encouraging performers by celebrating what they are doing well, in addition to offering constructive guidance. She believes that helping actors grow with both praise and direction creates a stronger, more confident cast.

EJ is especially proud of embracing a leadership role she had never experienced before while growing closer to her friends throughout the rehearsal process.
